Philosophy of Doula Care
Doula care, like birth, cannot be scripted. It should be organic in nature, free to flow with the changing needs and desires of the birthing woman. An experienced doula is able to respond to the unique needs and desires of each birth thought the use of her intuition, training and knowledge of the birth process, and ability so identify the birthing woman's philosophy and emotional needs, both spoken and silent.
Childbirth can be emotional and exhausting time. A postpartum doula works with the family to create a peaceful atmosphere in the home during the first days of family bonding. She can be a wonderful helper and friend for the new mother and her family.
